Every year the Awesome Book Awards honours five of the most outstanding debut fiction authors for young readers aged between 7 and 10. It's an annual competition run by Cranleigh Schools. Thousands of pupils from schools across the country read the whole shortlist and then vote for their favourite overall winner.
