Dave McKean is a brilliant English illustrator, photographer, comic book artist, graphic designer, filmmaker and musician.

McKean has collaborated with Neil Gaiman on four children's picture books, The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish, The Wolves in the Walls, Crazy Hair, and Mirrormask, and illustrated Gaiman's children's novels Coraline and The Graveyard Book, as well as SF Said's Varjak Paw, Outlaw Varjak Paw and Phoenix.

He illustrated David Almond's The Savage, Slog's Dad, and Mouse Bird Snake Wolf.

MirrorMask, McKean's first feature film as director, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The screenplay was written by Neil Gaiman, from a collaborative story created by Gaiman and McKean. A children's fantasy which combines live action and digital animation, MirrorMask was produced by Jim Henson Studios.
