Books & Signed Editions by Curtis Jobling
Curtis Jobling is a man of many hats: author, animator, and illustrator. He is perhaps best known for his creation of the TV shows Bob the Builder, Frankenstein’s Cat & Raa Raa the Noisy Lion. But Curtis’ other love has always been writing horror and fantasy for an older audience. His first novel, Wereworld: Rise of the Wolf was published by Penguin in January 2011 to great critical acclaim, shortlisted for the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize. He has written five additional books in this series plus the first two books in a new darkly comic mid-grade thriller series, Max Helsing, Monster Hunter, hailed as Percy Jackson meets Dracula.
Earlier work on Aardman’s ‘Wallace & Gromit’ and Tim Burton’s ‘Mars Attacks’ led to him picking up his crayons to design the BAFTA winning ‘Bob’, and numerous other picture books for younger readers. While continuing to write novels for older age groups, Curtis' first picture book for many years, the anarchic 'Old MacDonald Had A Zoo', features Tom McLaughlin on crayon duty. A further three picture books will follow from this dynamic doodling duo, as Curtis returns to the audience where he first made his name.
Curtis lives with his family in Cheshire, and travels the world speaking to school children, teens, teachers, parents and educators. Every presentation is rich in laughs as well as dripping with pearls of wisdom.
